Child Advocacy in Lorain County Does Not Stop Here:

  • Being Community Appointed Special Advocates for Lorain County Voices for Children, founders Sr. Mary Berigan and Donna Humphrey work actively with the Lorain County Domestic Relations/Juvenile Court to ensure that the hundreds of at-risk children in Lorain County every year have an advocate to help guide them through the child welfare system. These advocates are simply volunteers from the community; anyone can be a CASA/GAL. However, a CASA/GAL’s impact is large: “They review records; interview parents and relatives; talk to teachers, neighbors, and most importantly-the child” (Voices for Children Facebook Page).
